letter: The Planned Parenthood way shows how fascism works, he says
TO THE EDITOR: Liberals and their front group for abortion on demand (Planned Parenthood) have decided that, once an organization contributes any amount of money to them, they can never stop contributing. That is how fascism works.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation thought they could get a better bang for their donated dollar by redistributing a small amount of their donations. Unfortunately, they made the apparently fatal mistake of defunding Planned Parenthood.
It isn’t like Planned Parenthood needed the money. The average salary of the top eight executives is $270,000. That’s pretty good money for doing the devil’s work. Moreover, Planned Parenthood receives almost 500 million in taxpayer funding.
Essentially, what the liberal protection racket said to the Komen Foundation was, “Nice little charity you have there, it would be a shame if anything bad happened to it.” As with all protection rackets, the victim never pays voluntarily. So, for now it appears as though the Komen Foundation can never stop contributing to Planned Parenthood, or else.
Planned Parenthood did to Komen what public employee unions do to taxpayers—bludgeon them into submission with ugly rhetoric and threats. “If you don’t give us what we want, we will make you suffer.”
Unfortunately, every time we surrender to liberal intimidation, we encourage their behavior. What does it say about us as a people when an organization committed to saving lives surrenders to an organization committed to terminating them?
Ninety-one percent of pregnant women who seek counseling from Planned Parenthood end up with abortions. The Komen Foundation has every right to donate its money as it chooses, but Planned Parenthood doesn’t see it that way. As in all things liberal, there is only one way and that’s the liberal way.
Is there no one in America who will stand up to these despicable people?
