Panther girls top Osceola in overtime
Ellsworth's defense held Osceola to just 14 second half points as the Panthers prep girls basketball team rallied from a 30-17 halftime deficit to beat Osceola in overtime 50-44 Tuesday in Ellsworth.
EHS outscored the Chieftains 13-5 in the fourth quarter to tie the game at the end of regulation 39-39 and then outscored them 11-5 in the extra session.
Lydia Kuhl had a season-high 20 points for the Purple, Halle Hatch finished with 10 points and Riley Harrison scored nine. Rebecca Matzek finished with eight points. Kuhl also had 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The win was just EHS's fourth this season against 16 losses (2-11 in the Middle Border Conference) but their second in their last four games. They will take on Baldwin-Woodville, also at home, Friday and finish their regular season Monday at home against Plum City.
